The Last SAT for Early Admissions Applications
Harvard University Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
However, they state on their admissions timeline page:
Early Action applicants: We request that you submit your standardized tests by the end of October. However, you are still eligible to apply using the November series as they should reach us in time for consideration.
Yale University Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
Also, note this on their standardized testing page:
Yale does not participate in Score Choice. Therefore, you need to report to Yale the results of all SAT and SAT Subject Tests or all ACT tests that you have taken.
Princeton University Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
However, on Princeton’s Standardized Testing page, they state:
Single-choice early action candidates are strongly encouraged to complete their testing before the Nov. 1 deadline. Students taking standardized tests in November should have their scores sent directly to Princeton.
I would read this as saying “the October tests are preferred, but definitely send your scores directly to us if you are choosing to use the November test scores for your early admissions application.”
University of Pennsylvania Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
From their admissions deadline and fee’s page:
*It is possible to take the October ACT and the November SAT for Early Decision and the December ACT and January SAT for Regular Decision, but when you register, please make sure you have the scores sent directly to the University of Pennsylvania. Do not wait until after you receive your scores to send us the results.

Columbia University Early Admissions SAT Deadline

All application materials must be submitted by November 1. You must have all standardized testing completed by the November test date, and you must be very certain to have your scores reported directly to Columbia by the testing agency.
Dartmouth College Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
From their early admissionss page:
Brown University Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
However, if you read what they state on their undergraduate admissions page, you will probably want to have one set of scores of either the SAT or the ACT into their offices by the November 1st application deadline:
Early Decision applicants should complete all required testing by the October test date and arrange for results to be sent directly to Brown on or before the November 1 Early Decision deadline. You may still submit scores from the November 8 administration of the SAT and they will be added to your file. In addition, Brown will consider up to the October ACT test for Early Decision. Please note, we encourage students to have at least one set of scores in our office by the appropriate application deadline.
MIT Early Admissions SAT Deadline

Here is MIT’s Deadline & Requirements page for incoming freshman. The chart is very clear.
Stanford Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- October SAT’s
Stanford’s Application Deadline & Fee’s page is just as clear as MIT’s. However, as you can see here, they are one of the top institutions that REALLY BELIEVES the early bird gets the worm!
Berkeley Early Admissions SAT Deadline – there are NO Early Admissions/Decisions @ Berkeley
- December 31st – for regular & their only path for freshman admissions
Cal Tech Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- October SAT’s
CalTech’s Deadline & Forms for Freshman page for your reference.
University of Washington Early Admissions SAT Deadline – there are NO Early Admissions/Decisions
- December 31st – for regular & their only path for freshman admissions
The University of Washington’s similar to Berkeley in that they have no Early Decisions. Their Test Scores page answers the question above. The UW is a little less straightforward in therms of their Admissions website. So, you have to go to their “Quick Answers” Page for Admissions & simply “search.”
University of Michigan Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- June SAT’s
University of Michigan is a little confusing. The deadline for Early Admissions is November 1st like most top programs, but they state this on their freshman applicants requirement deadlines page:
Your SAT/ACT test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency and received in our office by our deadline. Please plan ahead— rush paper scores are not accepted. Also note that if you plan to take the ACT or SAT in October, those scores will not arrive in time to complete your application for Early Action.
University of Chicago Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
On University of Chicago’s First Year applicants page, you’ll see they use your “best results” according to them regarding your admissions chances.
TEST SCORES – UChicago requires an ACT or SAT Reasoning score, and we use your best results if you send multiple test scores to us. Official SAT Reasoning or ACT scores should be sent to the University of Chicago from the testing agency, even if your scores appear on your transcript. UChicago’s SAT code is 1832; the ACT code is 1152. We do not require any SAT Subject Tests. While we would of course like to receive your scores before the appropriate deadline, for the Early Action deadline, we will accept November SAT scores and October ACT scores and for the Regular Decision deadline, we will accept January SAT scores and February ACT scores. If you choose to submit ACT scores, we do not require the optional essay component.
Duke Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
From Duke’s application checklist page:
November 1 (Duke requires all test scores. Students should submit any existing test scores by this date, and we will consider additional testing taken after the deadline but before decisions are made. The latest date for additional testing is November 8 for the SAT and Subject Tests and October 25 for the ACT.)
Northwestern Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- November SAT’s
On Northwestern’s application options page:
NYU Early Admissions SAT Deadline
- October or Early SAT’s
NYU’s information was the most challenging to find in this list. On their Standardized Tests page, you’ll see they state:
SAT, SAT Subject, ACT, and AP scores must be final at the time of application.
Since the Early Admissions deadline is November 1st and the scores usually take approximately 17-19 days, the early October SAT’s will most likely suffice. However, it is always best to communicate with the office to make sure.
