Can we apply to Top Universities now?

A number of caring and concerned parents have been asking “Are there any options for my child to apply to University in the U.S. at this point?”

However, only a few stand out in terms of Top Brand Names:

• University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
• Rhode Island School of Design (part of Brown University)
• University of Wisconsin, Madison (turns out their application deadline is actually Feb 2, 2015)

Basically, the majority of Top Universities aim for January 2015 or earlier for their applicants.  They truly believe in the “early bird getting the worm.”

And even if we were able to get a rushed application in before this date, we do have to recognize that standardized tests internationally are limited.

SAT Test Dates Internationally that are Remaining

As you can see, May 2nd is the only realistic date from this point on unless you want to take the exam in the U.S. in March (March 14th, to be exact).

ACT Test Dates Internationally from February 2015

Again, April is the next available test date unfortunately.  As we mentioned earlier, the last test date was in December for the ACT in our Test Centers post.

Unfortunately, our recommendation for anyone who’s looking for top tier American Universities is to start early in applying for next year.  Frankly, one year in a person’s life is very minimal in the overall span of one’s academic and work career.
